Welcome to your April indy coffee bible; preaching this month’s speciality latest and filling your diary with the coolest events crafted by the caffeine gods

What’s been going down

We hit the UKBC, fresher style

We sent Charley Pope – Boston Tea Party barista and wordsmith extraordinaire – to her first UK Barista Champs to get the lowdown on badass beards, the latest tech and, um, coffee. Get the lowdown here.

New digs for Society

Coffee guide faves Society Cafe has opened its first speciality spot outside Bath. With a prime position on St Michaels Street in Oxford, we know where we’re heading for a top-notch brew next time we’re soaking up a bit of culture in the city.

Extract! Extract!

It seems Bristol’s Extract Coffee Roasters has spent a few pennies on its shiny new website. Check out the sleek design, catch up on the coffee blog and make sure to browse the super easy coffee subscriptions while you’re there.

Rollin’ onto North Street

One of our fave roaming baristas will be swapping vintage trucks for bricks and mortar this month, adding another knockout coffee hangout to Bristol’s indie crowd. Tincan Coffee Co. will be opening on North Street on April 4.

No need to pack a picnic

Falmouth’s Picnic Coffee has launched its first mobile coffee dispensary, Laurent the French ambulance. Find the vintage truck – and a skilled barista – churning out top notch Origin brews and totally delicious sarnies to salty surfers and hungry beach-goers at the Diver’s car park in Falmouth.
